    American History Workshop, founded in 1980, is a consortium of historians, educators, curators, writers, media producers, designers, and organizational planners dedicated to improving the public understanding of history at cultural institutions, in parks and urban and rural landscapes, and in community centers throughout the United States and Canada. Since its founding in 1980, AHW has collaborated with museums and libraries, city and state governments, federal agencies, foundations, businesses, civic and ethnic associations, and others on more than 475 master planning and public interpretive programs.
